Game rules

By playing Fishao you agree to these rules. They apply to the game, the in-game chat and mail, and our Discord. Moderators enforce them, and not knowing a rule is not an excuse.

1. One account per person

  • You may own and play one account. Second accounts, alts and farm accounts are not allowed.
  • Siblings or friends sharing a computer or internet connection are fine, as long as each person plays only their own account.
  • Do not share your account or log in to anyone else's, not even for a moment. You are responsible for everything done on your account.
  • Do not buy, sell, trade or give away accounts.

2. No moving resources between accounts

  • Do not send fishbucks, fishcoins, items, fish or shells from one account you control to another, directly or through another player as a go-between.
  • Do not use extra accounts to pay for club levels, unlock club fish, fill club slots or farm rewards for someone else.
  • Gifts and trades between real, separate players are fine. One-sided transfers from fresh accounts are not.

3. Only the official game client

  • Play only with the official Fishao client downloaded from fishao.net for Windows or Mac.
  • Modified, decompiled, rebuilt or third-party clients are strictly forbidden, and so are proxies, packet editors, memory editors, injectors and any other tool that reads or changes the game or its traffic.
  • Once detected, your account is permanently banned without warning, together with every other account you use. There are no second chances, and these bans are not lifted on appeal.

4. No bots or automation

  • Every action in the game must be done by you, by hand, while you are at the computer.
  • Bots, scripts, macros, auto-clickers, key or mouse repeaters and AFK fishing setups are not allowed.
  • Do not run several game windows at once to farm.

5. No bugs, exploits or cheats

  • If you find a bug that gives you an advantage, report it on Discord and stop using it.
  • Using a known bug or exploit on purpose, or sharing how to do it, is cheating, even if you found it yourself.

6. No ban evasion

  • If one of your accounts is banned, do not create or use another account until the ban ends.
  • Every account made to get around a ban will be banned, and the ban on your main account can become permanent.

7. Fair trading

  • Keep your side of every deal. If you borrow items, give them back. Scamming, stealing items gets you banned.
  • No real-money trading. Do not buy or sell accounts, items, fishbucks or fishcoins for money, gift cards or anything outside the game.

8. Respect other players

  • No insults, swearing at others, harassment, threats or sexual comments in chat, mail or Discord. This includes moderators.
  • Zero tolerance for racism and hate speech, including slurs, "jokes" and shortened or misspelled versions.
  • No politics. Do not start political or national arguments in chat.
  • Fishao is not a dating game. Do not ask other players for their social media, photos, address or other personal information, and do not share your own.
  • Do not pretend to be a moderator or a member of the Fishao team, or pick a name that looks like one.
  • Do not block other players, for example by standing on an NPC or a door so others cannot click it.

9. No spam or advertising

  • Do not flood the chat, repeat the same message, or post long walls of text. Post buy and sell offers now and then, not every few seconds.
  • Do not spam friend requests or mail to players who do not want them.
  • Do not advertise other games, other Fishao servers, websites or Discord servers.

10. Names and profiles

  • Your username, club name, club description and flag must not be offensive, sexual, political or hateful.
  • Accounts with offensive, sexual or hateful usernames are banned without warning. The same goes for the leader of a club with such a name. Choose names carefully, they cannot be changed.
  • Moderators can ask you to change your flag or your club description. Refusing is punished.

11. Reports

  • Use the report button honestly, and add what happened.
  • False reports, revenge reports and reporting the same player over and over are punished.

12. Penalties

Moderators choose a penalty that fits what you did. It is usually:

  1. a warning,
  2. a chat ban for chat offences,
  3. a temporary ban, from an hour to a year,
  4. a permanent ban.

Unofficial clients and game tools are always a permanent ban, see section 3. Other serious cases such as bots, alt farms, scams, racism and ban evasion can skip straight to a ban. Penalties arrive in your in-game mail. Anything gained by breaking the rules, such as fishbucks, fishcoins, items or levels, can be removed, and every account involved is penalised.

13. Appeals

If you think a penalty is wrong, open a ticket on our Discord. Explain calmly what happened. Creating a new account to complain counts as ban evasion.
